About the University
Established in 1963, The University of East Anglia (UEA) is a public research university located in England in the city of Norwich. UEA offers 23 schools of study within its four faculties that span a wide range of majors and interests. Ranked by Times Higher Education in 2012 as the 10th best university in the world under 50 years old and 3rd within the United Kingdom, UEA enrolls over 15,000 students a year, which includes more than 3,500 international students from over 100 countries around the world. UEA is also ranked as one of the best universities for student experience by Times Higher Education. The 320-acre campus is situated just 2 miles away from the city center and is close to public transportation and a variety of restaurants, coffee shops, theaters, markets, and stores.
Norwich is a bustling city located near the eastern coast of England. Norwich was considered the largest city after London in the 11th century, and still maintains the atmosphere of a large, exciting city by being a distinct hub for arts, culture, music, and nightlife. Norwich was designated as England’s first UNESCO City of Literature in 2012, and the city features an eclectic mix of historical and modern architecture. According to the 2011 census, Norwich houses over 132,000 people, many of whom are young adults studying at either of the two universities located there. Just a two-hour train ride away from London, it’s simple and accessible to travel from Norwich to explore other notable cities in Europe.
The University of East Anglia offers many courses of study to coincide with your major. Within these courses are modules (classes) which are taught in English. UEA also offers foreign language modules spanning from beginner to advanced levels.
