WKU EXCHANGE: NATIONAL CHUNG HSING UNIVERSITY (NCHU)

About the University
NCHU
Founded as an agricultural college in 1919, NCHU has long served as a center for agricultural innovation. Today, NCHU has evolved into a research-oriented university known for agricultural biotechnology, engineering, and material science programs. NCHU offers students over 120 student clubs and organizations and is equipped with a library, computer service center, recreational facilities, swimming pool, ATMs, basketball courts and an all-weather track. Students can eat at one of the many restaurants and bakeries in town or in the on-campus dining facilities for $1-$6 per meal.

Taichung is the third largest city in Taiwan with a population of nearly three million people and has an average mild temperature of 73 degrees Fahrenheit. Residents enjoy a robust cultural scene, delicious restaurants and wide selection of shops. NCHU StudentsNCHU offers more than 100 courses taught in English from a variety of academic fields, including Engineering, Social and Life Sciences, Agriculture and Management. Accommodations
Exchange students receive free housing in on-campus residence halls. Students are responsible for utilities and a security deposit. On campus, there are five dormitory buildings providing accommodation for male students and 4 buildings for female students. Generally, four students share a room. The dormitory provides common toilets, shower room, laundry room, recreational room, etc. housing conditions. The university will also help students to find affordable accommodation available in Taichung and its suburbs.
